Cornwall Aerospace and Defence Initiative was started in 2005 as a network for collective action by aerospace and defence companies in Cornwall, to improve market access and competitiveness.

Cornwall is home to a significant cluster of aerospace supply chain companies, and global industry players with local operations. For example, Lockheed Martin and Westland Helicopters provide support for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Merlin Helicopters at RNAS Culdrose, and Serco Aerospace provides aviation services at Newquay airport and Culdrose.

CADI member companies offer a comprehensive and expanding range of advanced engineering, manufacturing and logistics management services, with the capability to engage in longer term collaborative research and development with universities and prime contractors.
